About Me
Based in Australia’s Blue Mountains, I bring stories to life that draw directly from my 17 years as an investigator, blending real-world procedural insight with a deep imagination.
My life took an unexpected turn following a diagnosis of Axial Spondyloarthritis, proving that disability can strike anyone, at any time. What I’ve learnt along the way has led me back to my desk to dig out an old draft, and now I simply can’t stop writing.
I create characters that readers can relate to, focusing on strong, formidable women navigating systemic injustice, moral grey areas with real-world politics at the edges. Running alongside each narrative are philosophical questions about power, prejudice, human rights, trauma and the abuse of authority, all of which force us to confront some very uncomfortable truths.
I believe that through storytelling, we can not only heal ourselves, but change the way we relate to the world. Fiction gives us a glimpse into the wonder of our imagination, while allowing us to explore difficult ideas, uncomfortable truths and the parts of ourselves we might otherwise avoid. For me, writing is both an art form and a release.
With me along for the ride are my wife, Kathryn, and our young daughter, Arwyn. Without them, this story would still be that draft.
Disclaimer: Eveything I write comes from me. My expeiences and my imagination. I do not use generative AI in my writing.
